Consolao pueblo afrodescendiente de venezuela: actualmente Macuquita

Resumen

Este artículo se centra en explicar la construcción de identidades culturales y ancestrales contemporáneas de los habitantes de La aldea de Macuquita, una comunidad afrovenezolanadescendiente de un pueblo de negros libres, ubicada en la parroquia Guzmán Guillermo hasta llegar a la Capital falconiana, estado Falcón, Venezuela. El objetivo es comprender las posibles relaciones existentes entre los significados religiosos actuales y la memoria social, que sobre el pasado fundacional de esta comunidad, rememoran sus habitantes en las distintas ceremonias que practican. Desde una perspectiva etnográfica se exploran las relaciones socioculturales que trazan los Macuquita en su cultura ancestral, sus cantos que identifican sus costumbres, entre otros. En fin, se concluye que los procesos identitarios los Macuquita están asociados a mecanismos de resistencia, negociación y autonomía cultural, desarrollados en el pasado y reactualizados en el presente.

Abstract

This article focuses on explaining the construction of contemporary cultural and ancestral identities of the inhabitants of the village of Macuquita, an Afro-Venezuelan descendant community of a free black people, located in the Guzmán Guillermo parish up to the Falconian capital, Falcón state, Venezuela. The objective is to understand the possible existing relationships between the current religious meanings and the social memory of the foundational past of this community, recalled by its inhabitants in the different ceremonies they practice. From an ethnographic perspective, we explore the sociocultural relationships that the Macuquita people trace in their ancestral culture, their songs that identify their customs, among others. Finally, it is concluded that the identity processes of the Macuquita are associated with mechanisms of resistance, negotiation and cultural autonomy, developed in the past and reactivated in the present.
